Rural Primary Health Services
Rural Primary Health Services (RPHS) program is funded by the Australian Governments, Department of Health and Ageing. The program will run from the 1st January 2010 to the 30th June 2013. The RPHS program came about following a review of rural health services and now combines the Regional Health Services Program (RHS) and the More Allied Health Services Program (MAHS), previous managed by the network. The focus is on increasing access to a range of primary and allied health care services for rural and remote communities and continues to target community identified health needs. Primary health care services encompass active treatment, screening programs, health education on individual health risks, and more broadly, efforts to address health concerns for the entire community.
Pilbara Health Network will provide Audiology, Dietetics, Diabetes Education and Podiatry to the following towns. Service provision is on an outreach basis, delivered by appropriately qualified and accredited allied health professionals traveling to the serviced communities from Perth or Karratha.
