Workforce
The aim of Workforce Support is to develop the capacity of the general practitioner workforce in rural and remote areas; and the accessibility of the general practitioner workforce to rural and remote communities.
The role of the Workforce Support Officer is to provide support such as training, education, mentoring and professional development, to newly arrived and existing general practitioners. In doing this the Workforce Support officer takes into account the particular needs of General Practitioners that work in remote areas; and those who are overseas trained doctors, locums and medical students.
Our Workforce Support Officer is accredited to apply for Continued Professional Development (CPD) points for educational events that are arranged by the Pilbara Health Network.
Workforce Support also offers GP Training and Profession Development Assistance of up to $3,000 p.a (plus GST) to assist primary members with course or conference fees or travel costs. The assistance enables Pilbara GP's to attend training or professional development outside the Pilbara region. We currently offer ten grants of up to $3,000 per financial year for the professional development.
